a sweat sacrifice

"Leanne, coming to church isn't about you and having things your way... it's about worshiping me."
That's what I heard last Sunday... thankfully God's voice does not have to compete with loudspeakers*.

So last week I sacrificed... comfort, 4 hours, quiet, my preferences, understanding, and sweat.
While others sacrifice their lives, hunger, pain... I sacrifice sweat.  Yes, I am spoiled.

* It has been funny to me when the electricity would go out (microphones, loudspeakers, etc.).  And when it rains so hard that you can't hear whoever is talking.  Sometimes I just get the feeling he wants us to be quiet and listen.

His Glory

As I read Revelation and the book The Sign that is helping me better understand Revelation... it has led me to different places in the Bible.  Recently to Ezekiel 38 & 39.
Take a minute... read it.

It sounds like the third world war... it sounds like it will be horrifying and terrible.  Why would I ever want to see that?  But for some reason I would like to be on the sidelines...
Maybe because as God says at least a few times in these chapters... "they shall know that I am the LORD"

Revelation is confusing at best and I have already confessed to using another book to help me with it.  But one thing that I have recently started doing... which I really should have learned back when I took that Biblical course from CIU was to read through an entire book and look for the overall themes.  It is very apparent that a major theme in Revelation is that God is victorious!

I often get caught up in the me, my life.  Reading Ezekiel 38 & 39 really humbles me for some reason.
Starts me thinking on God's big plan... the one where I am a grain of sand.  Not that we aren't part of that plan... it takes a lot of grains of sand to make up a beach.

He WILL be victorious... we will get to see His Glory.  I'm excited about that.

Coffee blog

So as I was describing this blog to Hannah... I said that it is a blog I don't really give out to many people.
She suggested calling it a coffee blog... or in my case a tea blog.  Something that you would share with a friend over coffee/tea.  So I guess that is what this is... but I just want to give you a bit of a disclaimer.  This is a blog of what I feel like God has spoken to me.  Hopefully it is Biblical.  But some subjects might be a little strong... as in my first post... http://auntleannie.blogspot.com/2009/03/grub-worms.html
